Rolled Gold 
Patented in England in 1817 rolled gold was developed to give the look feel and wear of solid gold at a more accessible price. It is made by fusing two sheets of gold onto a base metal, which are then bonded together using heat. Rolled gold contains a far higher percentage of gold than gold plating, so the quality is far better and more durable. Rolled gold ages beautifully and does not flake or wear away. It is also hypoallergenic and is therefore suitable for many people who can only wear solid gold. 

Caring for rolled gold.  
Avoid wearing during showering or swimming, and avoid contact with chemicals, including cleaning products, perfumes and lotions. Wiping gently with a soft dry cloth after wearing and storing in a box or pouch, will give your piece many more years of golden pleasure.
