About Love After Love

Love After Love is a place where beauty finds meaning through a curated collection of artisanal treasures for the home, the self and the soul. Our ever-evolving selection of vintage, new and antique homewares, jewellery and fashion, has an eclectic global aesthetic, designed to inspire a connection between what the eye sees and the heart feels.

Our Story

Founded in 2019 by mother and daughter Catherine and Jessica Combe, Love After Love has continued to flourish and evolve with Tony (husband and father) also joining the team. Today, the family business runs from a small studio in the historic laneways of Paddington, Sydney, one of Australia's leading destinations for fashion and design. Customers often remark on the studio's distinctly European sensibility, from the pieces on display to the way they are presented and the unique curation of brands not seen elsewhere.

Our Collection

That original point of difference still defines the collection: new pieces sit alongside vintage, European makers alongside Asian and African ones, every piece selected for its sense of beauty and story. The range spans vintage and antique finds, handcrafted homewares, accessories and fashion and a curated group of international and Australian makers. It is matched by a level of personal service that has become a point of difference in its own right, and a philosophy rooted in love; for the pieces, for the artisans who make them, and for the discerning customers who bring them home.

The Meaning Behind Love After Love

The name Love After Love itself carries three layers of meaning. It was first inspired by Derek Walcott's poem of the same name, about self-reflection and love. Over time, it has come to reflect the generational nature of the business, and it also speaks to the antique and vintage treasures at the heart of the collection; pieces that continue to find new love.

Meet the Family

As the creative heart, Catherine brings over 35 years of experience in fashion, textiles and interior design in Europe and Australia, where she’s worked as a designer, creative director and educator, teaching colour and design and running her own interior design business. Jessica's background is in fashion and media. Tony brings an international business perspective having spent 30 years running manufacturing companies across Asia and Europe. Together they are Love After Love.
