Why we love it:  An eclectic piece of Victorian history this chatelaine necklace is in beautiful condition and contains a range of intricately detailed tassels, filigree balls, and a dog clip, from which you can hang your own pendants. The silver is softly patinaed with age. The necklace has a new clasp. 

Victorian Chateline Necklaces are rooted in utility and beauty, as their origin was a chain that you could attach small useful objects to, such as scissors, writing utensils, keys, purse, watch, perfume vial, etc. Chatelaines were often then hooked to a sash, belt or waistband. Over time their enduring beauty was prized and those that have survived the years are worn as incredibly special storied pieces.
